state project

My first independent project in third grade was a state project! My state was Nevada because I didn't know anything about it! I know a lot about it now because I finished my project already. The state bird of Nevada is the mountain bluebird! Nevada is a really interesting state. It is a interesting state because it does not have a football team. My state project is on keynote. My project has 15 slides! I can't wait until I can share my project!

The egg drop

This morning I did an egg drop at school after specials! The first time the class tried it my egg cracked. My mom was there to watch! Mostly every bodies egg survived. This week my class redesigned our contraptions! Today we dropped our designs off the top of my school! When I checked my egg it didn't crack. I was really happy! I think it worked because I had a lot of balloons in my parachute and there was nowhere for my egg to go because there was so much padding! 17 peoples eggs didn't crack! 2 peoples eggs cracked both times. I feel bad!

my new room!

Last weekend my brother and I went to our Grandparents for the weekend.  While we were gone my mom and dad did my room.  My mom and dad spent alot of time working on my room.  when I got back I didn't scream or jump when I saw my room I just stood there mouth open and speechless.  It has vines with flowers hanging over my bed.  It has a giant tree next to my bed and light up flowers that are on my dresser.  My comforter has a Bobby Jack monkey on it.  It's supposed to be a Jungle Room.

And, what I missed I have a zebra case that can hold stuff in it.  I have a dresser and nightstand that's right next to my bed and it has a little tree on it and lanterns hanging over it.  They're green.  My mom and dad really surprised me.  I can still smell fresh paint in my room.  The back wall is brown and the other walls are dark green.  My wall next to my dresser are going to be a lot and a lot of pictures of different kinds of monkeys, one picture of a lion and a picture of a toucan.

My big bear that I used to have in the corner where my big tree is, is in my closet taking up a lot of room.  I am going to get a big canvas to go above my bed on the wall.  I have 4 that I can't decide on.  I have a shelf that we were supposed to sell and that has a lot of jungle animals on it.  I thought that my desk would be a little bit cleaner.  I got a pillow that has a zebra design on it that has a G on it in the middle.  They are the best parents you could ever wish for.

the first day of school

today was the first day of school.  today we just organized our desks.  today was the best first day of 3rd grade.  Mr Mowery is so much fun and so funny.  i got a new book bag.  I sit with Sydney my friend I had last year.  My friends Makena and Sarah are also my best friends, but they are in a different class.  The friends I had last year are Jake, Sydney, Panya, Jonathan and Josh.  They are all in my class this year.  My homework tonight is reading 15 pages of George Brown Class Clown.  I'm on Chapter 7.

meet the teacher

today was meet the teacher day. I go to Glacier Ridge Elementary. my teacher is Mr. Mowery.Big Lego hotel in his room. it even has details inside it. last year I had Mrs. Price. I'm almost as tall as her! 

                                        P.S. Mr. Mowery and  Mr. Ross are the tallest guys in school.

one day there was a girl named Jenna. she was at school in the library and she was reading a book called princess world. it was about a princess and a prince. she checked it out. she went home and kept on reading it and then...           she was in the book! and she was the princess and she wasn't in her tower but she saw the prince through the small woods.then he came out looking like a frog and then she remembered  that in the beginning of the book there was a evil witch. then all of a sudden she was ticklish and itchy. she never felt this before.  she said " I'm wearing the prettyist dress in the world." an hour later...  the curse wore off the prince and he was back to normal. the prince thought the princess looked different.she saw the same prince in the movie sleeping beauty. but my name is Dominic! one year later...            they got married        the end

going to california

I am going to California while I'm on spring break. I bet it's going to be so much fun. were gonna go over the golden gate bridge. Were going on a six hour flight.Were going to visit my aunt Carrie at her house for a whole Saturday-Saturday. She has two cats. and if were not going anywhere on a day we can stay home with her cats for the day.

Chicago

July 21-24 we stayed at Chicago.  On the 21st we went to the Navy Pier and the Children's Museum where we got in for free with our Cosi pass.  The Children's Museum had alot of activities.  The part I liked at the museum was the miniature room full of "mini" stuff.  We went to Harry Carey's for dinner and I had the chicken nuggets.  They were the best.  After that we went to the Crystal Garden and the rides. 

The next day we started to walk to the Willis (sears) tower and then it started downpouring.  We got stuck under an awning.  Then we saw an Old Navy down the street.  Me mom and my brother all got Notre Dame hoodies.  It started lighting up so we started running and then we got to the tower and we went up to the top floor and stood on the glass balcony.  It was a cage of glass and me and my dad sat on it.  Then we got off the sears tower and then we walked to pizano's the pizza place.  We ate pizza.  We then walked to the Millenium Park and saw something that looked like a jelly bean that was a mirror.  Then we walked some more to buckingham fountain and then moved onto the museum of natural history.  AND THEN we went into the exhibit of the mummies and i became really interested in it.  and then they closed and we went onto the water taxi back to the pier and ate dinner bubba gumps and they had make your own sundae.

The 3rd day we went to the shedd aquarium and we had a "weaver" for a taxi driver.  we went to the part with the sharks and the fishes and i hid behind daddy the whole time.  and then it was time to see the dolphin show and they only did a couple of tricks.  later we went to see the beluga whales and the underwater dolphins, penguins, otters and whales.  it was cool.  then we went back to the museum of natural history and a tour guide saw me looking at a case that told us about them wrapping them up (mummification mommy says) where the tour guide explained how they covered the mummies in salt and wrapped them up.  then we left.  there was a baseball game that let out and we couldn't find a taxi.  then we started walking and walking and walking and then i got on dad's shoulders and got a taxi.  i was the good luck charm.  then we got out of the taxi and the restaurant had a 1.5 hour wait.  and then i had to go to the bathroom and my feet started hurting.  and then my head started hurting.  and then i was hungry.  we walked all the way back to the hotel because the wait was too long and we stopped at the cafe next to the hotel and i had a pretzel bread turkey sandwich and it was so good.  and then we went back to the hotel and tried to stay awake for the fireworks, but we couldn't. 

The Map

Chapter 1

One day there was 2 men that went to the library and checked out a book.  The title of the book was The Very Sorry Pirate.  But when they checked it out the librarian said "there is a bookmark, I will take it out."  It was an actual map.  It was a map to an island.  The librarian also said I will keep this map until a person comes up to me and says "do you have a map"? but the 2 men said we will take care of it.  We will take all of our time trying to find which person made it.  "Ok, but if I catch you trying to go where the ending is, you will be really busted" said the librarian.  "You have our word" said the 2 men.  So the librarian said "You have 1 chance."  "Ok" said 1 man.  So they got the map and started on their journey.

So they checked 3 people, but then they started to go where the starting was.  So they went on to the city and it was a long walk to the end of the city.  So, one day when they got bored they went into one of the buildings and they found a pipe.  So then went in the pipe and found a whole new world and it was made out of water and had pirate ships sailing through everything.  Then they found a forest that looked a lot like the one on the map.  So, they went through the forest and it seemed so much like a jungle because there were vines and other things that you would find in a jungle.  So, they started their journey through the forest.  They got really close to the ending of the jungle.


Chapter 2

So they finally made it through the jungle.  They walked for miles until they reached the mote castle.  They came closer, they went inside the mote castle and saw sharks in the mote and bats hanging from the door and other things that are haunting and scary.  So the 2 men went to see the inside of the castle.  It was haunted.  It was a castle with a king and a queen.  They were very mean.  They came across a man who said "very well, don't you wonder if we're mean?"  "yes" said the men.  "well, we are just prisoners and on the tenth floor you can find the king and the queen."  The 2 men said "how many floors are there"  "We don't know but there is a lot of them.  You have to be really sneaky because there are spotlights and you have to be really careful of the monkey.  he sees every floor and everybody.  he has a special room and millions of screens.  he sees the trash and all of the exit doors.  so you need to work together as a team" said one of the prisoners.    "so watch out for the monkey"

So, the 2 men started to walk up the winding stairs but then there was another set of stairs.  the men were confused.  one of the men said "wait there could be boobie traps and we could get caught by the monkey like one of the prisoners said"  but then there was a noise that sounded just like a monkey, but the guards came and almost got them both but they started running up one of the sets of stairs and they went up the right staircase.  The right staircase had the boobie traps.  But they ran fast.  One of the boobie traps they passed so fast so it caught the guards instead.   The 2 men went up the stairs to the tenth floor and made it past the king and the queen.  And then the king and the queen and the guards came and somehow they got out of the trap.  And then one of the two men saw a fox flying back that was bigger than 4 feet.  It was huge.

Chapter 3

So they found out there was 18 floors in the castle.  So they made it out of the castle and then they built a ship out of wood that they found in the castle.   And, they also found some wood on the outside of the castle.  So the 2 men set sail on the ocean water. First they could see a little fish.  It took one day to travel a half a mile.  Then the next day they found 2 paddles laying on the ocean top.  So one of the two men grabbed both of the paddles then the guy in the back got a hold of the paddles and started paddling in the ocean.  So then the next day they paddled five miles.  Then Sunday there was a stampede of dolphins in front of them.  Then they looked around and found a fin that was not jumping.  And at that very moment the fin that was not jumping jumped out of the water and the two men said "It's a shark!" Then the 2 men raced to a very far away place.  Till they were in the middle of nowhere.  Suddenly they found a hard shell and one of the two men said "hey, that's a hard turtle shell."

Chapter 4
So they made it somewhere but when there was a big chance of wind.  Then there was darkness at that very moment and at that time they figured that they were in a cave full of noises with the sounds of bats and bears.  But then they looked in the back of them and saw a bear almost ready to bite the boat.  But then the 2 men paddled back into the bear. But then they found that they had bats all over their boat they almost ran into a shark.  "A shark!  Oh my gosh!" said the 2 men.  "We almost ran into a shark".  "Wait that was a dolphin and a shark fighting".  So they paddled far away out of the way, but they didn't get to the light.  The light was 2 miles away.  The 2 men said that maybe they could get past the shark.  Maybe we could paddle to the end of the cave.  The 1 man on the right said "Wait!  I see light really back there! Maybe if we paddle a little bit faster we might get there faster"  "That's where we can get some light for a mile"  So they went very quiet and made it past the shark and the dolphin.

The New Baby

Once upon a time a little piece of sun fell from the sky. Then the centuries past and on a very small island there became a castle and the Gigliotti family lived there. 

Then one day the queen was getting sick when she was pregnant.The guards went to find that flower to heel the queen. They came back with the flower in a basket and put it in warm water then the flower soaked into the warm water and healed the queen. The queen had a little boy named Dominic. The older sister Jenna  was so exited to have someone to play with. The king and queen Dan and Jen was waiting to have a princess and a prince for a very long time and now they got what they wanted. Everybody would always be on the lookout so no bad guys got in and stole the baby boy. But it has never happened and that is very good. 

Now every time it was a birthday even the kings and queens birthday they lift a million lanterns in the sky. The little princes birthday  was tonight.The little boy wanted to go out on the water to see the lanterns light up the sky. 4 hours later it was time to lift the lanterns.So the Gigliotti family went out on the water to see the lanterns light up the sky. The little boy was turning four years old that year. the little boy it seemed like this was his first seeing the lanterns. but then the gigliotti herd something and turned around and looked behind them and found a herd of ginormous ships heading to there island to steal the little prince! The queen said '' We have to get back to the castle before they do ''. they hurried back to the castle and got there before they did they got into a secret place so the people on the ships wouldn't find them the all the guards went to fight . Soon the ships went but the people on the ship took the little prince Dominic! then he got locked in a tower. but he got out by a bear the bear even took him home to the castle it was amazing! Everybody was so exited to see the little prince Dominic come back home with his family. And the bear  became a guard! Everybody threw a party for the little prince Dominic the returned prince the bear took kids on rides around the small island.        THE    END!
